Towns & Pueblos of Northern New Mexico Photo Workshop
with Steve Anchell
Northern New Mexico is an enchanted land famed for its beauty and artistic inspiration. From the famous salons of art patroness, Mabel Dodge Luhan, to the magnificent landscapes of Ansel Adams, and sensuous paintings of Georgia O’Keefe, the towns, pueblos, arroyos, soaring cliffs and deep gorges have provided infinite subject matter for artists of all mediums.
Join me for a photographic excursion through both the remote and populous regions, from the adobe splendor of Santa Fe and Taos, to the ancient pueblos of the Anasazi First People, the Rio Grande Gorge, soaring limestone cliffs, and endless cloud strewn skies found nowhere else.
We will travel in the comfort of an air-conditioned van, with three nights at a B&B in the heart of Santa Fe, followed by three nights in Taos. Each day we will travel to sites that will inspire and delight, with free time to explore the wonders of Santa Fe and Taos on your own. We will conclude the workshop by taking the “high road” from Taos through Chimayo to visit the renowned Sanctuario, and share a farewell lunch at the famed Rancho de Chimayo restaurant, before returning to Albuquerque.
The workshop is scheduled to conclude just as the magnificent Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta begins, so participants can choose to extend their stay and attend this colorful annual event.
Emphasis will be placed on landscape, people, and travel photography.
All levels of expertise are welcome - digital or film, cell phone or 4x5 view camera.
