Greetings!

I just opened this new topic because I made very good experoence with the film/developer combo.

IR films are known for their delicate tonal capabilities but for "unruly" contrast characteristics in development - depending on light situations and IR intesities.



I have worked a long time with Kodak High speed IR film and after discontinuing I switched to EFKE IR film, developed in BEUTLER PYRO, a really amazing couple.

Better to show some examples .....

here are some samples from the series "Tusculum Rurale"



I used a Hasselblad with Efke IR , IR-filters and #29 (dark red) developed in BEUTLER PYRO ws1. The amazing contrast rendering of the pyro development made it possible to manage inside-out exposures without loss of detail.





Unfortunately the film has been discontinued....

Elegant images, Harald. A small correction, however. It's not that the film has been discontinued, Efke has been discontinued!



Have you had any luck finding an IR substitute?

You are right steve, Efke has been totally "remounted"!

I should have some last rolls of Efke IR in the freezer, maybe I will wait ten more years and sell it for $ 500 a roll then

Have you found any reputable sources to buy true infrared on eBay or elsewhere? I bought a bunch of 4x5 Maco IR from a reputable source (cleaned him out) last year, but will be looking for 120 before my next shooting trip. Been shooting IR almost exclusively since 2000... Not really into the fake stuff, but may be stuck.

sorry for my late reply. A friend told me that the guys from www.fotofachversand.com have lots of rolls of Efke IR 820 in his freezer.

Maybe you can ask Guenther, the sales manager if he would sell them to you - they don´t have it in their official online store.
