I'm experimenting with orthochromatic document film and was trying developers other than diluted paper developers. I came across the formula for T/O XDR-4 on P251 V4. I am using the Sodium vs Potassium based chemicals. I noticed that The Film Developing Cookbook states the the Hydroquinone is omitted because: "there is no need for the Hydroquinone...as it is not active at this pH". The book gives an alternative formula TDLC-103 which omits the hydroquinone, uses the sodium based chemicals but with much less sodium sulfite than the substitute amount given on P251. Can you provide some insight on the difference- Thanks-John
Any errors or omissions you come across in the Darkroom Cookbook.
