Recipe concentration

Post by rhwilson »

I've been reading the book and ordered some chemicals to mix up some D-76 or may D-89. I typically use the Max Dev app as a starting point for times / temps.

My question is. The recipes in the book, is this then considered the "stock" mix of developer? I'm assuming so, but wanted to ask. Then depending on the film, iso I might then dilute from there?

I'm currently shooting some HP5+ @400 so I'm planning to use the mix undiluted. Occasionally I like to shoot at 1600 or 3200 in which case I will dilute 1:1.

I'm testing with a roll of unimportant shots, but I do have some of Biscuit my golden retriever so those are always important!

Yes, the developer recipes are all to make a stock solution, which is often diluted for use.
